My Thanksgiving turkey was a success. At least I was pretty proud of how well I did. My turkey was basted every 10 minutes with olive oil, butter and fatty goodness. And it was moist and delicious. Laura and I also made artichoke dip (of course!), guacamole, cheesy potato yuminess, stuffing, gravy (I made gravy!), candied yams, pumpkin pie and chocolate-coconut-raspberry squares.
I have to say sticking my hand into a turkey was pretty unnerving. I don't think I'm alone in this. I called my mom's cell phone and started going on and on about how freaked out I was; my aunt Sherry had answered the phone and thought it was pretty funny. She talked me through it and assured me that she also thought it was pretty freaky. That bird used to fly around! Eeek!
Anyway, I posted a picture of me holding the giblets. Of course I have rubber gloves on. I just couldn't do it otherwise!
